Betty White is a woman with a 75-year career of acting, writing, activism, comedy, television, and radio behind her, and her life and appearance still motivate people.
She turned 95 on January 17th, 2017, but she looks incredibly attractive and shows no signs of slowing down.
What is her secret?
Betty revealed her hobby in a TODAY interview with Al Roker, which might solve the mystery of her youthfulness. She says:
“It’s – drum roll, please – the opposite sex. There’s only one problem: Who’s gonna want to ask out a ninety-four-year-old woman? It just doesn’t happen.”
Betty is apparently not so much different than her legendary roles, the man-hungry Sue Ann Nives and the naïve Rose Nylund on Golden Girls, however, but she relates more to the former.
She jokes that men are a hobby that these women share, but men aren’t aware of it.
However, jokes aside, she never remarried again after the death of her husband Allen Ludden.
“When you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?”
In the end, she advises us once more:
‘Get yourself a hobby! Doing it now will greatly benefit you as you grow into your golden years.”
Betty also loves to work with animals and says:
“ Don’t be afraid to get really hooked on something, because that will refurbish your energy.”
Hobbies energize the body and boost the immune system, reduce stress, improve self-esteem, improve sleep quality, and boost flexibility.
Betty maintains that kindness is the most important thing if you want to succeed in a relationship, personally or professionally:
“I think that you don’t say the hurtful thing even if you’re irritated or upset, because that sticks around, or that just chips off a little of the other guy’s self-esteem.”
